This Is Halloween!

Halloween is coming around the corner in Lawrence, so let’s review some ideas to plan ahead for this October. When I have my next condo here in Lawrence, I wanna take the time to find some things to decorate the house for Halloween. Allow me to announce my five point plan. Take it from me when I plan a visit to this location 1. Look for some Halloween supplies via Spirit Halloween 2. Get bags of candy varieties at a grocery story for trick-or-treaters 3. Set up the house and come up with a haunted house for the kids to enjoy 4. Put up the decorations any way you like until it’s perfect. 5. Make sure the supplies and decorations are perfect for the whole house. Now to do that, I need someone I know who can help me out and set things up for a Halloween party. So when they help me out on setting up the decorations and everything else for Halloween, we can work together as a team. So by the time the season comes, we gotta get ourselves prepared. We'll have plenty of fun here at my ho

Johnny’s Tavern

What you’re about to witness is a place in North Lawrence that I, myself, have never been to before in decades. Today, we’re talking about Johnny’s Tavern. That place here in North Lawrence is what we call "Serving Up Tradition" since 1953. And ever since I've been living in Lawrence for decades, I saw Johnny's Tavern here in the town of Lawrence. And when I get to move back to Lawrence, I wanna take the time to visit Johnny's for a tavern burger or some of its famous wings and catch up on the football game. The first time I wanna come here is to meet up with some friendly folks who work here and have fun there too. Since I haven't been to that place in a long time, I'll give you the whole story about it. Not only Johnny's Tavern is in Lawrence, it's also in Topeka, Overland Park, Prairie Village, Shawnee, and parts on Missouri including Lee's Summit, Blue Springs, and Kansas City.  Since 1953 Johnny’s has been “Serving Up Tradition,” with it

My Look Back In Our Own History In Lawrence KS [We Didn’t Start The Fires]

Welcome back to my Lawrence Kansas Monthly Blog. What you're about to witness is something that you haven't heard before. As you may know, I've been making music for years every since I lived there, and I'm still gonna keep on making music for more years to come. Right now, we thought it would be a good idea for me to do a look back at what happened in Lawrence Kansas over the years in my own time. Way back in September of 1989 when I was born, Billy Joel was opening doors in the way we look at history in his song "We Didn't Start The Fire". This is what it looked like in that video. And in case you didn't know just yet, it was featured on his 1989 album Storm Front. So before I move back to Lawrence Kansas and since there's plenty of time left until the time comes, I'm gonna take the time to work on our own version of the hit song. In the meantime, here's the lyrics I made. "We Didn't Start The Fire [Lawrence Kansas Version]&quo

Video Toaster [My True Story on How I Met Kurt]

Image
The following blog entry is based on a true story. It all started in my early childhood days when I first got to meet Elizabeth Taylor here at KU. The first time I met her was the time I was in school at 1032 Sunnyside Ave. We had so much fun here. And there was the time I first saw a videotape of a slideshow made with VideoToaster by NewTek. I was fascinated when I got inspired into making videos and playing around with VideoToaster. How? Well, it was the very first time that Liz and I got together to meet Kurt for the very first time. As we got to Kurt’s house, we went down to the basement and played around with VideoToaster. Those special effects really got me hooked. I just wish that I could go back in time and finally meet up with Kurt and Liz at Avalon Video once again. And we would share a lot of the good memories that we shared together, and finally make my next slideshow. Speaking of which, I remember that slideshow that went on videotape. It first started with various pictu
