Movie Madness!

Image
This next blog entry is brought to you by a friend of mine from C-Tran. Matthew Cannon, this one's for you. Hey there, hi there, ho there! Welcome to my monthly blog. Today I wanna discuss about something that I’ve been thinking about doing daily in my spare time. I call it “Monday Movie Madness”. It’s a special kind of event idea that I came up with on my own. So when the time comes and I’m back in Lawrence, I can plan a special movie madness event with my friends. And maybe do one with Matthew Cannon too. Why? Cause I think maybe we’d thought about this for a very long long time ever since I’ve been going to the movies and whatnot. So I have some ideas starting with a little list on a chart I came up with. I’ll write this down on paper later on in case I can remember. Here’s what it’s all about. Introducing my ‘movie madness month list’. It features a list of classic movies past and present in any genre and title. Please note that this list contains five movie titles or more in...

My C-Tran Story

Image
There comes a time in my life when I finally graduated from high school and got to do C-Tran for the next two years. Before that, I got to meet Sally Martin when I got a part-time job at Westlake Hardward. It was exhausting and a little stressful, but at least I had a lot of fun with it though. And Sally was really happy to see me and it was really nice to meet her too. My favorite part of my job here at Westlake was when I got to water plants on spring and summer seasons, it was fun. Okay? Although sometimes I get stressed out with her, she and I can always take a joke and laugh it out with her. You know something, Sally is such a nice gal with her country music she likes listening to. One time I heard a Dixie Chicks song “Not Ready To Make Nice” once, it was on ringtone on her phone and it was really upbeat in a country pop way. Nice! The first time I met her was when I first worked at Westlake and it was during the summer season. Thank you Sally for helping me out on my job an...

My Time With Speed Mack

Image
Yo, hold up! Time to go back, way back into time! Pronto! No, I’m just kidding. But I can tell you that it’s time to check out. Yet another tribute to a friend of mine who went to C-Tran and is also the Lawrence’s finest rap star. Ladies and gentlemen, I give you, the one the only… Speed Mack! Speech! 🎤. Here’s my story dedicated to him. We both met at the beginning of the second year of C-Tran and he was really nice to meet me for the very first time. Before Speed Mack and I hung out, we came up with our own rap group for school. It was called ‘Straight Up! Crew’. It was something that we came up together once we came up with some underground hip hop music. The first thing we did in music was a demo tape featuring a couple of freestyles, and did a remix of Jenny Rovel Jones’ cover of Dido’s song ‘Life For Rent’. He started free-styling with his own lyrics to the beat. Word up! I remember that time I was coming up with some artwork for the C-Tran hip hop group. As a picked the a...
