Cinco de Mayo!

Image
Do you think that maybe it's probably time to celebrate Cinco de Mayo in Lawrence Kansas this time around? The answer is a big YES! If so, here's the scoop on that. Cinco de Mayo is just around the corner in the month of May. And when the time comes, it's time to celebrate. So let's review some ideas of what we can do that this special day. Here's what we might be thinking when I finally come back. Idea #1:  Plan a special Cinco de Mayo themed block party in downtown Lawrence. If I can think of a location to get the party going in Cinco de Mayo, it would probably be somewhere here at... 804 New Hampshire St. right next to Cieliti Lindo where it's temporarily closed. It was where my dad used to perform music there back in the day. And this is where I can finally get it all set up. And to do that, we need someone who can help me out on this. We need the music set up, a variety of foods and drinks such as tacos nachos, taquitos, quesadillas, and enchiladas, and t...

My 'Welcome Back' Party Update

Image
Hi everyone and welcome back! As you my know, there's only six months left before I'm ready to move back to Lawrence Kansas. So here's an update of what's to come on my first ever 'Welcome Back' party here at South Park in downtown Lawrence. Okay so, I got word from my dad that he and mom are gonna get the condo sold this week. So I let Stephanie know that in the month of May (before the beginning of June), I'm finally back in Lawrence Kansas. I let her know on a text and kept her updated with more details. I can’t wait to reunite with all my friends that I know. Anyway, time for an update on my first ‘Welcome Back’ party in South Park. Here’s what we need for the party: 1. Food and refreshments including cheeseburgers, pizza, chips, fruit salads, soda. Grill up the burgers to make the cheeseburgers. (Pizza courtesy of Pizza Shuttle) 2. Music of any kind I like. I’ll be the DJ for music, requests are also included. Also I need someone to help set all this ...

The Roller Skating Rink

Image
Okay, before I start this next story. I wanna remind you that we’re on our way to the 50th blog entry. So keep your eyes peeled. Now, on with the show! There's this place that I went to when I was a kid. It was in Topeka and located at 815 SW Fairlawn Rd. That was when I went there during my school year at Cordley. That place is called Sk8away. That place was the greatest in the Topeka area. I remember my first time going there, and it was when I first learned how to roller skate. Somehow, I had a lot of trouble doing that. But in the future, I might be able to learn how to roller skate. The one other thing that I haven't tried in years was Heelys. The shoes with the wheels built in. That would be really cool for me to wear on a daily basis. If I were to learn how to use those, I'd roll anywhere in the neighborhood including downtown Lawrence. I would even learn how to roll with my Heelys here at the roller skating rink in Topeka. Anyway, the first time I went there was t...

October At Its Best

Image
October At Its Best Well folks, it’s still autumn in Lawrence, the leaves in the trees are orange and red, and it’s that time of year again…Halloween. Oh man, you can't imagine how much fun I've had when I lived in Lawrence. And I gotta tell you guys, it was the best time I've had. Here's some stories that I wanna share with you in today's blog. I remember the time in downtown Lawrence there was a huge zombie walk that started from the Lawrence Community Building to roaming the streets downtown. I really enjoyed it a lot and filming the whole scene there and seeing Sellout perform songs on stage. If you haven't noticed just yet, I made videos about it and put it on YouTube years ago. One was with my puppet Buzzy on Halloween, and one with a fake movie trailer I made called 'Wake of the Dead'. In case you remember, here's the links. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rtNYJRkgXXU&t=7s Buzzy's Halloween Video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tcUTI...
