KU Scores!!: The Basketball Issue

Image
There comes a time in Lawrence when there’s a basketball season coming up here in KU. And when it happens here, the madness happens here at Allen Fieldhouse. Now if you wanna join me for going to another KU basketball game, let’s go over the rules. 1. Find out when the Jayhawks are playing this year. 2. Plan ahead on a time and date on when to go to the game. 3. Have everything ready and enjoy the game. In case you haven’t heard of it yet, Big Jay and Baby Jay are the mascots. And not just KU basketball but also of KU football too. If you’d like to know more about him, listen to this because you might learn something. Big Jay is one of the costume mascots of the Kansas Jayhawks. Together, Big Jay and Baby Jay are Jayhawks and are the mascots used by the University of Kansas. Did you know that another mascot named Centennial Jay was temporarily used in 2012? Well, now you do! But the real question is... Who is Centennial Jay? Another Jayhawk costume mascot was Centennial Jay, or C...

Lights! Camera! Jayhawks!

The camera’s rolling… Places… Quiet on the set… And…action! My next blog entry is gonna be about film and media production at Summerfield Hall in KU. I’ve been looking up some info on the Film and Media Studies facilities on KU’s website, and I think that it’s a great idea to do some green screen footage here. When I’m back in Lawrence Kansas, I’ll get in contact with the people here in Summerfield Hall and talk to them in doing production for my next video projects. I might even get to do green screen clips for some special FX wipes, music videos, action shots, etc.  I can also get together for some video editing at the computer lab too. Why? Let’s just say that because I’m in the mood for getting my next video project started in the future. Folks, you’re gonna love the stuff they do here at FMS Facilities. This is gonna be fun though! Here’s the inside scoop on Summerfield Hall’s FMS Facilities. Soundstage There's a soundstage with with over 2700 sq/ft of production s...

IdeaSpark: Public Television in KU

Image
And now, it's time to discuss some future local ideas for the people of Lawrence Kansas to share. This is IdeaSpark. On today’s idea spark, we’ll be talking about something different. Here’s something that I've willing to talk to the students at the Kansas Union. I was talking to the folks at KU last year about an idea for the next public television station, and one of the administrators think that it's a great idea to put on a public television station in KU. The title of the public television station is named "Lawrence Public Television (a.k.a. KLTV)". This is what the logo will look like. This public television station will show PBS programs of any kind, interstitials, promos of what's to come, and others. Plus before the show starts, the local funding spots will appears with sponsors that support children's programming for every morning and afternoon, and shows for evenings and weeknights. That's PBS kids programming for mornings and afternoons, ...

Go Jayhawks! (April Issue)

Image
Go Jayhawks! [April Issue] Last week I got word from my dad that KU won the 2022 National Championship, and I was happy for the Jayhawks to win. You know, I wish that I could go see the Jayhawks game once again in Lawrence. It's like that time my buddies Ingrid and Ashley took me to the football game as a Best Buddies event. Heck, I even got a high five from Big Jay. Anyways, the Jayhawks are one of my top 5 college teams of all time. And that's why I dig KU. I even like to visit the Kansas Union anytime. Now I have some fresh ideas for the next mural in Lawrence. I've made a collage example of an upcoming mural idea piece titled ’Rock Chalkin’ With CJ’ (a.k.a. Rock Chalk Madness) and this new mural idea will be made outside at KU or somewhere in downtown Lawrence. I posted that idea for the next mural on Van Go's page on Facebook. This is what the mural will look like. Now in the middle of April, I would meet up with my Cordley teacher Lois Orth-Lopes and get togethe...
