I'm Finally On My Way

Image
Well my friends, this is it! The time has come and the delay is finally over. I sent some special thank you cards to everyone in Bluffton, spent my fewer days here, plenty of days of waiting, and of course a lot of packing, the house is finally sold. And now it's time to start my chapter back here in Lawrence Kansas and relive my past childhood days and live my life once again. Also, I wanna thank you all for supporting me here at the Lawrence Kansas Monthly Blog and keeping in touch with me since my two vacations there. You made me happy after all these years. You know something, ever since I've thought of moving back to Lawrence, my dad and I talked about it since my visitations there. And I've always remembered those good time I've spent there these three decades there and made friends there. This is what I'm been waiting for my whole entire time since I dreamt of doing. So here's what playlists I made on my iPad for the time being: Best Buddies: The Playli...

Places To Visit When I'm Back In Kansas: Part 2 (…And Other Things To Do)

Image
Hello again, and welcome back to my monthly blog. Last time, I wrote to you about the new places I wanna try in Topeka like The Pennant and Round Table Bookstore. Now here's part two of my blog entry on places to visiting when I'm back in Kansas. Let's get started. The Wheel Barrel  This is the kind of place I wanna try out in Topeka, it's at 925 N. Kansas Ave. But the question is, "Where to begin?". Well if you like Burgers and wings at Jefferson's and Johnny's Tavern, then we should try out The Wheel Barrel. And trust me, it's really fun. It's  a hidden gem nestled in the heart of Topeka, Kansas. And t his rustic haven promises more than just a meal, it's an experience. So just picture  yourself sinking into a plush seat, savoring the warmth of a gourmet grilled cheese sandwich that transcends the ordinary. And it's  home to an award-winning selection of gourmet grilled cheese creations, as well as rotational craft beer options and ...

Cinco de Mayo!

Image
Do you think that maybe it's probably time to celebrate Cinco de Mayo in Lawrence Kansas this time around? The answer is a big YES! If so, here's the scoop on that. Cinco de Mayo is just around the corner in the month of May. And when the time comes, it's time to celebrate. So let's review some ideas of what we can do that this special day. Here's what we might be thinking when I finally come back. Idea #1:  Plan a special Cinco de Mayo themed block party in downtown Lawrence. If I can think of a location to get the party going in Cinco de Mayo, it would probably be somewhere here at... 804 New Hampshire St. right next to Cieliti Lindo where it's temporarily closed. It was where my dad used to perform music there back in the day. And this is where I can finally get it all set up. And to do that, we need someone who can help me out on this. We need the music set up, a variety of foods and drinks such as tacos nachos, taquitos, quesadillas, and enchiladas, and t...

My Spring Bucket List

Image
Hi there, folks. Me again. We’ve got a lot of work to do. So today I think it’s time for me to study my Spring bucket list. What is a bucket list, you may ask? Well, it’s a personal list of experiences, goals, and achievements a person hopes to accomplish. Okay, without further ado, here goes. (Now, where to begin…) 1. Taking outdoor walks The Ted Ensley gardens at Shawnee County, Kansas. According to the Shawnee County Parks and Recreation’s website, it says here that it’s a 37.5-acre garden in the west side of scenic Lake Shawnee. And the reason I wanna take a walk there in those gardens is that Stephanie and I love to go for a walk on a beautiful day. I’ve been thinking about doing this for a really long time. Now while I’m back in Kansas, I’m gonna be taking a walk down Lilac Lane in KU for an hour or two, even when it’s beautiful outside. Maybe I can even do that while I’m listening to my favorite music. Perhaps maybe a perfect walking playlist would be nice. And after that,...
