All My Favorite TV Shows I Watched… (Special Top 10)

Sometimes when it comes to watching something good on cable TV, you can’t get enough binge watching. Even when it comes to the tube. So today I’m gonna talk about the memorable TV shows that I enjoyed watching for decades.

Ladies and gentlemen, it’s time for my Lawrence Top 10.

The Top 10 TV Shows.

Let’s get started, shall we.

10. Barney & Friends

Before I watched Barney & Friends on PBS every morning, I watched a series of videos called ‘Barney & The Backyard Gang’. The first one I watched on video was ‘Barney Goes To School’. By the time I watched it, I really loved it. One of the kids I saw are Tina, Michael, Derek, and Luci. I really liked the part in that song titled ‘If All The Raindrops’ was the one where the kids stick out their tongues with their ‘mouths open wide’. I like how they sing like this.

“Ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah.”

That was a really fun song to sing along to.

I also saw the video ‘Barney In Concert’. It was “super-dee-duper” fun for the whole family. Barney was there, Baby Bop was there, and even the kids were there live on stage. That was amazing to see!

And then, I got to watch ‘Rock With Barney’ on videocassette. It was a lot of fun to watch on VHS too. When I see Barney and the Backyard Gang rock it on stage. I imagine what it would be like to see a Disney dinner show.

Now I got to see the first Barney and Friends episode on PBS. The best part in Barney and Friends is that the song was also played in the episode ‘The Queen of Make Believe’. I even saw Michael disguised as a robot. That was really funny too. Using our imagination is really fun.

Another episode that I watched is a couple of them that I remember seeing. The one where there was Barney’s birthday at the school. It was really fun. The birthday cake, the confetti, the party games, everything! Sweet!

A couple more episodes I watched were ‘Oh, What a Day’, and ‘Everyone Is Special’. Now I will always know that smiling helps whenever things go wrong. Also, I remember one other thing for sure. I smile and a laugh can chase troubles away. And that’s a really good thing.

Now on ‘Everyone is Special’, we learn that everyone is special including the family and the friends that you love very much. I’ll never forget that feel good show that I love watching. Won’t you say you love me too? I’ll bet you do.

Oh, and I also remember another great episode I watched on the show.

Carnival of Numbers!

It’s just like when you’re at Douglas County Fair or at a carnival with your family. That episode was unmistakably good and really exciting to check out because like on Sesame Street, I learned to count. Numbers are the best in every way.

And there’s yet another episode I also saw. That’s 1-2-3-4-5 Senses. I love that episode because it helped me learn the five senses, which are touch, sight, hearing, smell, and taste. Those five senses are important for my body and it helps too.

Get this! I also saw an episode where Barney and his friends go on a camping trip together. There are two versions of the episode. One called 'Campfire Sing-Along', and there's one titled 'A Camping We Will Go!' This version of the VHS video is just like the original one. In this adventure, they meet woodland creatures like a raccoon and a kookaburra. I like the part where Luci tells a scary story which is not that scary at all, but is really funny. Everyone enjoyed it a lot. I also love how they make s'mores on the way back. I love making s'mores when I was young.

Campfire Sing-Along

A Camping We Will Go!

Now do you get the picture?

Now one time in 1992 or 1993, my dad and I got together for a special festival somewhere in Lawrence Kansas. And while my dad was doing some music, I got to watch Barney Magical Musical Adventure on video. That video adventure was just wonderful and extraordinary to see for the very first time. I really love how Barney and his friends take a magical trip to the magical forest, filled with musical flowers. Following the trail locates a castle just like in Derek's backyard.

9. Rugrats

"A baby's gotta do what a baby's gotta do!"
- Tommy Pickles

I'll never forget the first time I watched Rugrats on Nickelodeon. It was when I first saw Rugrats on videocassette. I rememebr watching those adventures. The first one was "Chuckie The Brave", "Angelica The Divine", "A Rugrats Vacation", "Return of Reptar", "Grandpa's Favorite Stories", "A Baby's Gotta Do What a Baby's Gotta Do", "Tales From The Crib", "The Santa Experience", and "Tommy Trouble".

Those were the greatest Rugrats videos I watched when I was a kid.

I also remember watching The Rugrats Movie on VHS. It was really fun to watch in my younger years since 1998. I really love the part where baby Dil is introduced and the babies ride around the Reptar wagon.

And in case you haven't forgotten yet, I still have the soundtrack to the movie. I love listening to the track 'Take Me There' by Blackstreet & Mya. One of the greatest songs ever heard back then. Pretty nostalgic...

Best track ever heard!
And I'd thought you knew!

8. Sifl & Olly Show

While watching videos on MTV during channel surfing, I tuned in and I first saw those sock puppets on television for the very first time. Sifl & Olly were a riot of comedy on TV! My dad really love this show a lot and it really makes me feel like I'm laughing my head off! Those two sock puppet characters really crack us up!

A LOT!

I really love the background in the chroma key effects on blue screen when there's a song coming in or when there's a conversation in it. The voices were hilarious and Chester was really wacky!

Even Precious Roy is too! He was really wild! SUCKERS!

I also remember the time Liam Lynch's song 'United States Of Whatever' became an international hit! My dad really loved it a lot and it's still on YouTube! That song really makes me wanna dance really hard! Kinda like...

He looks really cool playing his guitar in the studio.

The way I watch Sifl & Olly just like from back in the day makes me feel like I'm in a wave of puppet nostalgia. I'm always into puppetry, puppet shows, and character ideas of my own because of the way I play around and make my own stories on my Apple. When my family and I lived in the Learnard house, I asked my dad to do a little homemade Sifl & Olly Show for a bit of a demonstration from the series. Dad played Sifl and I played Olly. I even played Chester too just like the original guys did in the series. It was really fun. In 2012, Sifl & Olly returned as the hosts of the show, this time with video game reviews on YouTube. I watched them and it was really funny also. I really loved the song using the word 'Pie' for the promo. It was like a catchy tune that goes viral at any time. When I watched the lost episodes on YouTube, I watched a couple new things. There were new songs I watched such as "Internet Killed The Video Star", "You've Got a Song", "Rock Some", "Vote For Appleman", and "Halloween Song". I also saw that segment on Interview Time where Tony Hawk guest starred. That was extra cool too. I also remember when I remixed the show using chromakey effects on Final Cut Pro where the blue screen turns into an animated background or a piece of art every time a segment appears. Shot out to my dad, Thom Alexander, who loves this show. This one's for you.

7. Foster’s Home For Imaginary Friends

In 2004, we began moving to the country in N. Lawrence to live near the farm. While we had DirecTV, I tuned into Cartoon Network and I first saw the special presentation of Foster's Home For Imaginary Friends on a Friday night. I really liked the show ever since I was young. I even got to watch the show while I was eating pizza at Mr. Gatti's for lunch. I'll never forget that first time I watched that show. It's really cute and real funny to see on TV. I even remember that time when Chris and I got to hang out and play around together in my room. We both got to watch the show. Blooregard Q. Kazoo was hilarious though, and so does Wilt and the others. I had no idea that Chris was a fan of the show. Shout out to you, Chris!

I heard that Foster's Home For Imaginary Friends is gonna have a preschool series on Cartoonito. Yeah, I know. I'm thinking it might be a good one too. But, what I'm gonna do for the time being this summer is watch the movie 'IF' because it's a live-action movie based on the cartoon series. Now that would be a new book, won't it.

Booyah!

I also remember that time when I was at Stephanie's apartment and we got together and hung out like buddies do. And by that time when I slept in at her house, Stephanie did her imitation of Coco who was waking me up. It was really funny of her to do that for me. It was also that time at her apartment when I was watching 'My Gym Partner's a Monkey' also when she called for a pizza delivery. That was when I had pizza for dinner. That was really cool also. Thanks for that, Stephanie. It was really nice of both of us to hang out and have a really good time! I hope that we can do this again someday.

"See, friends! We're all friends!"
- Wilt

6. Ren & Stimpy

My dad loved watching Ren & Stimpy with me as always. For me I thought this was disgusting, but because of Muddy Mudskipper and 'Space Madness', it was extremely funny in the 90s. Lucky for me, I can watch this show anytime on Paramount+.

One of the funniest songs I like hearing in the series was 'Happy! Happy! Joy! Joy!'.

The other one was the 'Royal Canadian Kilted Yaksmen Anthem'.

5. My Gym Partner’s a Monkey

In 2005 while we were living at the farm, we had DirecTV. When I was watching Cartoon Network on the telly, I first watched the sneak preview of 'My Gym Partner's a Monkey the day after Christmas. My dad really loved watching it with me and he really liked it because it really funny how the school has become the zoo. Now when watching the show made me wonder, how did the zoo animals at CDMS begin talking in a cartoon. Well, I'll tell you. Did you also know that Jake Spidermonkey was voiced by the guy who does SpongeBob SquarePants? Tom Kenny did that voice too. I really loved that show too because of how the students behave like animals in the series. The first two episodes I saw were 'Inoculation Day' and 'Animal Testing'. By the time I watched them, it was awesome and funny too. And it's always funny in every other way. Just think of the possibilities in this cartoon.

Now get this, I've always wondered another thing about the show. If 'My Gym Partner's a Monkey' can do a comeback of the series, it would be on another channel. I know some of you know that the series didn't return to Cartoon Network, but what if the show moved to Nickelodeon for a revival comeback. If so, we can make this work. The original creators of the show (Julie McNally Cahill & Timothy Cahill) will return along with the original voice actors of the show. In the comeback series of the show, the recurring characters will have some new voice actors. I'll have more information about this later. I'll talk to my cousin about this. To continue, if you haven't heard of what the comeback of 'My Gym Partner's a Monkey' will look like. Here are some fan art pictures I made to prove it.

Now here's the fun part for this comeback. What if there's a new episode of 'My Gym Partner's a Monkey' where Principal Pixiefrog came up with an idea to fix this fashion show issue. Lucha Libre here at Charles Darwin Middle School. The episode will be titled 'Lucha Lunatics'. It's where all the students, staff, and faculty wear masked wrestling outfits for the school semester. As they do, CDMS gets things together for Lucha Libre themed classes and matchups. That means during all classes, in the cafeteria during lunch, the gymnasium, outdoors, etc.

And in case you haven't forgot just yet, here's what the characters for this episode will also look like in this comeback.

This is a fan art picture I made of Adam Lyon and all his friends in masked Luchador wrestling outfits along with their referee Principle Pixiefrog.

Now before we move on to the next show, here's a little bit of info on the show's new voice actors.

Mrs. Warthog will be voiced by Julie Kavner

Bear Ted will be voiced by Kenan Thompson

Mindy Camel will be voiced by Cheryl Chase

Superintendent Wolverine will be voiced by Kurtwood Smith

Vanna Flamingo will be voiced by Maria Bamford

Kiki Von Beaky will be voiced by Awkwafina

Rick Platypus will be voiced by Weird Al Yankovic

Nathan Penguin will be voiced by Hank Azaria

Nathanial Penguin will be voiced by Billy West

Carmine Lion will be voiced by Frank Welker

John Lion will be voiced by Danny Cooksey

Eddie Panther will be voiced by Pamela Hayden

Kaku Tiger will be voiced by Pamela Segall

Other voice roles will include:

Jason Alexander

Amy Sedaris

Beck Bennett

Julia Louis-Dreyfus

Jess Harnell

Candi Milo

Nancy Cartwright

Andrea Martin

Harry Shearer

Kevin Michael Richardson

You decide what’s next for this comeback of this original show.

4. SpongeBob SquarePants

It all started right after watching the Kids Choice Awards in 1999. When I first saw the sneak preview of SpongeBob on Nickelodeon, it was really awesome. I remembered the first time I saw that show. I started with the pilot episode “Help Wanted”, “Reef Blower” and “Tea At The Treedome”.

The first episode was ‘Help Wanted’.

I really love how SpongeBob got himself prepared for his first time working at the Krusty Krab. When he got himself a “hydrodynamic” spatula with port and starboard attachments. It required the turbo drive right in it. Before that, there was a pack of anchovies breaking into the Krusty Krab like Black Friday. Squidward wanted to show them a little decency and demand them a single file line in front of the register. Until… chaos happened! That was when SpongeBob came to the rescue with his spatula and on to the kitchen.

He kept making those Krabby patties and served them to his first customers. The anchovies were amazed by this. Then after that, the finest fast foodsmanship was a success! Good for you, SpongeBob! Good for you!

And that was when SpongeBob got a job at the Krusty Krab.

“I’m ready!”
- SpongeBob SquarePants

Then there was ‘Reef Blower’. In this second part of the episode, there was no dialogue. Just some sound effects and music. I like how he uses that reef blower to vacuum and blow out some sand on the ground. Did you know that Squidward also used the reef blower to cause havoc in Squidville? Yikes!

And now for the next episode I first watched. ‘Tea At The Treedome’! As a watched it, SpongeBob saw someone clam wrestling while he was jelly fishing. That’s when he first met Sandy Cheeks.

Patrick once told SpongeBob, “When in doubt, pinkie out!”. And when he got inside, the water drained and he was dehydrating… without a water helmet! He was really dry when he brought her flowers.

He wanted to get out of here, but he couldn’t. And when he said he didn’t needed water, he thought that was for ‘quitters’. Which was not really true. But I can tell you that when he almost completely lost it, he really needed water because he was really thirsty. SpongeBob knew that there was no water in the tree dome.

“I NEEEED IIIIIT!”

This is what they both looked like when they were really dehydrated. Never leave without any water to carry around with you.

And when Sandy rescued both SpongeBob and Patrick, she put water on both of their helmets, then thankfully everything was cool. And so as SpongeBob. I hope they love their tea strong to drink up. Duh!

It was fun! But then I saw another episode that was off the chart! Well not literally, but was really pumped! That one was ‘Jellyfish Jam’.

I tell you right now, that episode was awesome. Especially the way SpongeBob dances to the beat with a jellyfish. When the music was blaring so loud, it disrupted Squidward and his rest causing his house to shake like there was an earthquake coming in. Then, Gary was tapping his eyeballs like clavas and the music was playing in a different tune. Bubbles were popping, dolphins were chirping, and scallops were singing, and the orchestra was playing in a catchy melody. I guess wild animals can throw very wild parties, and these guys definitely move to a different beat. Cool!

There’s just one episode that I’m not gonna watch again. I’ll promise you it’ll just be quick. That episode was ‘Good Neighbors’. Why? Because of how Squidward was repeatedly yelling/screaming at SpongeBob and Patrick. It almost nearly damaged his eardrums. And that’s how SpongeBob usually reacts to getting berated. So I’m not gonna watch that episode again. Like ever.

Now if you’re anything like Squidward who screams and yells at SpongeBob throughout an entire Sunday whose right in the middle of his so-called Good Neighbors lodge meeting outside his house and if they can’t get any sleep, YOU BETTER KEEP HIM OUT OF REACH OF ME!

Phew!  In conclusion, I think SpongeBob is one if my all-time favorites way before Loud House and other shows. I always like to watch classic episodes of SpongeBob from seasons 1-3. I’m ready! I’m ready! I’m ready! Okay enough of that for now.

Let’s move on.

3. Tiny Toon Adventures, Animaniacs, & Looney Tunes

Let's start off with the Tiny Toons.

Why Tiny Toons? Because it was one of the best shows I've watched in my entire life ever since. Before Animaniacs premiered, it was ACME Looniversity. And Babs And Buster Bunny are both cousins of Bugs Bunny. And so as the others that I like. Plucky Duck was extremely funny in the series. The way he goes completely nuts just like Daffy Duck does, he likes to be a star. The others including Gogo Dodo were very, very, VERY wacky! I even love how they made up their own adventure about their trip to Hawaii. It was pretty exciting to be honest. And Steven Spielberg was really the best in producing these cartoons. I'll forget the time Chandra and I watched this show when I was little. Thanks Chandra!

Animaniacs!

Hello nurse!

What a better to start of a really exciting cartoon to watch when I was a kid. Even Kids' WB aired that show once. Then Nickelodeon showed that series too as well as Tiny Toons. I loved watching this show because of the Warner kids. It really makes me laugh every time I see them on the screen. Yakko, Wakko, and Dot were zany to the max! One time, I watched this all-musical sound cartoon in this show titled 'Babblin' Bijou' and it was a huge homage to cartoons of the 1930s. And I tell you right now that was really funny to watch ever since.

That show even taught everyone some morals of today's stories in any episode. I really love how the Warners sing something in every segment. That was fun too.

Animaniacs also did a direct-to-video movie titled "Wakko's Wish", which was also pretty good too. I love how the characters are actually in it together in this adventure.

And speaking of which, the show also had those two lab mice. Pink and the Brain also had their own spinoff series from back in the day. I really enjoyed the Japan episode with the sumo wrestlers on them. Even the one with Sigmund Freud where The Brain hypnotizes him with a "relaxing" atmosphere. Mesmerizing, huh.

You know something, it also reminds me of that one time I watched Felix The Cat as a full-length movie on TV and it was interesting from back then. I might be able to watch it again for the time being before I come back to Lawrence. He's really funny for a talking cat. And I think Dot Warner is "really cute".

Okay, and know for my favorite part. the Looney Tunes.

Man, I really loved those guys when I was growing up and I loved watching them on TV. One time I was at Penny Annie's with my family, and I saw Looney Tunes as a talking clock. Pretty swanky... I even had those Looney Tunes plush dolls to play with. One with Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, Sylvester and Tweety, and Taz the Tasmanian Devil. It was really fun having these since I was a kid. I remember watching the Looney Tunes while I was at Mr. Gatti's eating pizza on my own. Those guys were a huge riot on Nickelodeon. Even Pepe Le Pew was romantically swell with Penelope Cat when there were on top of a speeding train. I also love watching the reboot of Looney Tunes on Cartoon Network once when I lived in that house on 1452 Brighton Circle. It was called 'The Looney Tunes Show'. And the best part of that show is that Kristen Wiig voiced Lola Bunny in it.

The reboot had an all star cast of characters and some Merrie Melodies segments in it too. That's about a lot more than four stars to rate this show all at once! WOW!

2. Timon & Pumbaa

Hakuna Matata! It means no worries! Yes, that is true to that one.

So to be honest with you folks, I enjoyed watching that show on the Disney afternoon block. It even was showing on Toon Disney also. Ever since I saw The Lion King in theaters and on videocassette, I was thrilled to see those guys for the very first time. And the best part of the series is that like in the movie, I can feel the love! It is always a problem-free philosphy. And yeah, that is a really cool show to watch after the movie. Well played you guys!

In case you haven't forget yet, there's Timon dancing.

And now here's my number one pick.

1. Sesame Street

Every since I was born in California my mom made a VHS tape recording Sesame Street episodes for me to watch. It was really fun for me to watch over and over again, and I was right all along. The show really give every family a lot of kindness and caring to give out. I really love the songs, the animated segments, the puppets, and the friendly neighbors.

I really loved that episode where Telly wanted to have hair like anyone else like Gordon, Maria, Luis, or others. I even remember that part where Luis taught the two-headed monster the word 'Hola'. That Telly Monster was incredibly funny!

Even Elmo is funny too. And speaking of Elmo, here's what he looks like when he had his tap dancing shoes on. That was when I remember watching Episode 2832.

This was where Elmo imagined himself as a tap dancers, where Luis comes across Uncle Wally hosting Wolfgang the Seal's clapping class, and where Savion teaches Snuffy to tap dancing too. That was amazing to see. In fact, I learned how to dance just like the pros do.

And I gotta tell you on that one, Savion was amazing in that season. A great way to start off my learning skills. I also remember when I was still watching Sesame Street on PBS in 1999, I saw the first ever segment called 'Elmo's World'. Elmo was really talented in that season also.

Now here's another fun part of Sesame Street. I once went to the movies with my parents and guess what...I got to see 'The Adventures of Elmo In Grouchland' in theaters!

Elmo had a really great time in his trip to Grouchland. Vanessa Williams and Mandy Patinkin were just excellent in this movie! The greatest movie I've ever seen in my entire life. It was during Sesame Street's 30 Years in Counting.

Before the movie, I saw Elmopalooza on VHS. The celebrities were there and the musicians were there also. An all-star cast of friends, music, laughter, and Sesame STreet fun for the whole family. Even Rosie O'Donnell was also there. I even had the soundtrack to the special, and it was great. I really love the songs on that CD. And before that also, I saw 'Sing Along Earth Songs' as a Sesame Songs videotape I remember watching when I was a little kid.

In case you remember, it was that time when I was in Lawrence Kansas and I was remixing the video with an extended version of Sing Along Earth Songs. This time I added Bill Nye The Science Guy in between songs, even added the song 'What A Wonderful World' by Kenny G & Louis Armstrong. I put them all together into one DVD and sent it to Mrs. Rettig's kindergarden class, and she really loved it.  Although I still need to make another extended version of 'Sing Along Earth Songs' on DVD for the time being at least. I really need to find a DVD creator app for my Mac so that I can create DVDs again and send them out to one of my friends.

Now here's another one I remember seeing on Sesame Street. There was even this segment where Big Bird jumps on the trampoline, and Snuffy wanted to try it out. And Count von Count comes by and counts how many jumps Snuffy has.

That is until...

"Snuffy! Snuffy! Where'd he go, Count?"

Snuffy got on top of the roof! He counts a total of 19½, with his last jump bouncing him to the top of 123 Sesame Street. So that makes "almost" 20 jumps! WOW!

In case you haven't forgot, it was also in Episode 2604...I think. I hope that I'm right on this one.

Now I also remember that segment where Elmo and Whoopi Goldberg were chatting about skin and fur. It was really nice of them to talk about it.

Anyway as we also know that we'll always love Sesame Street just like the good old times when I was born. And it will always and forever be there in our hearts. And you know something, I can't wait to see what Sesame Street also has in store for us in the future. Plus, who knows. Maybe my mom and I can visit New York City and visit Sesame Street someday. You know how much I enjoy Broadway and Times Square. I hope that someday I'll get to come back there and visit again.

Oh wait! I almost forgot something! There was also that story line where Oscar's worm friend Slimey went on a trip to the moon. Season 29's main focus was "The Science of Discovery," wich featured many story lines pertaining to the excitement of discovering science told over the course of the 18-week arc.

Slimey was amazing in the season and had a great time on the moon. It also reminded me of the time I learned about the moon in The Magic School Bus on CD-ROM.

Lynne Thigpen of 'Where In The World Is Carmen Sandiego?' also guest starred on Sesame Street.

Big Bird and Tony Bennett were together on the rooftop as he sang "Slimey To The Moon" as he serenades on Slimey's trip through space. You gotta love good jazz.

And when Slimey came back, everyone in Sesame Street was really happy to see him once again. I even got to see the parade held here on the TV. Welcome home, Slimey. The best season ever! And best of all, this season of Sesame Street was dedicated to Jon Stone. This is his memorial picture.
